MC1741
MC1741 is a general-purpose operational amplifier manufactured by Motorola Semiconductor and compatible with the industry-standard µA741 architecture. Designed for stable, high-gain analog signal amplification, the MC1741 became one of the most widely used linear ICs in analog electronics.
The device features internal frequency compensation, allowing it to operate in closed-loop configurations without additional stabilization components. Its high open-loop gain, differential input stage, and robust output drive capability make it suitable for a wide range of analog applications including signal amplification, active filtering, and waveform generation.
The MC1741 supports offset voltage nulling, enabling precise trimming in sensitive analog circuits. It operates best from dual power supplies (commonly ±12 V to ±15 V) and includes short-circuit output protection, improving reliability during fault conditions.
Motorola produced the MC1741 in several package types, most commonly 8-pin DIP, making it easy to integrate into instrumentation, audio electronics, and industrial control systems. Because it follows the classic 741 design, the MC1741 is pin-compatible with many other 741-series op-amps from different manufacturers.
